Mark A. Davis is considered the foremost expert on health care real estate in the Upper Midwest. Over the past 30 years, Mark has leased, developed and/or acquired over 8,000,000 square feet of medical space. Mark is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences on topics such as partnering with health systems to develop medical office buildings and trends impacting MOB sales.
In the past five years, Mark has led the development of 20 medical buildings ranging in size from 10,000 square feet to 150,000 square feet—$300 million plus in development costs. He has also been extremely active in the investment sales arena nationally with over 44 successful transactions totaling over $695 million in the past five years. To meet client needs, Mark has opened offices in 5 states and currently provides property management to 57 medical office buildings totaling 2.7 million square feet.
Mark’s client list includes individual physicians, primary and specialty care practices, health systems and a variety of investor entities. Representative clients include Physicians Realty Trust, HealthEast, Noran Neurological Clinic, and North Memorial. Mark has also worked with non-profits such as Be the Match to develop and execute real estate strategies—in this case, crafting a real estate structure that optimized the strategic and financial objectives of Be the Match in a 240,000-square foot new corporate headquarters.
Mark earned his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from Arizona State University in accounting and received his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the College of St. Thomas. Prior to entering the real estate business, Mark was the Sales and Marketing Controller of Josten’s Year Book Division and a financial analyst with General Mills. He is a member of the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors, Minnesota Medical Group Management Association, NAIOP, Urban Land Institute, President of the Eden Prairie Foxjet Swim Team (25 years) and received the prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award from the Minneapolis Junior League. In addition, Mark and his daughter, Alexandra, started a luxury women’s and men’s boot, shoe and handbag company called The Cobra Society.
