Wayzata Specialty Center

Project Overview

Davis identified Wayzata as a prime medical development opportunity due to its concentration of high-net-worth households and lack of available medical space alternatives. Davis had been actively searching for a site for several years. When the site on Wayzata Boulevard became available, Davis acquired it on a purely speculative basis. Sitting on the gateway throughfare, Davis was confident that a Class A medical building would attract a range of medical specialists.   

To develop the building, Davis had to confront and overcome a host of site challenges. Davis first had to deal with site clean-up issues and costs related to a former gas station on the property. In addition to the environmental issues, Davis had to secure approvals from the adjacent neighbors, the Watershed district and the City. Davis worked collaboratively and responsibly with the various entities to secure their approval of the project.    

Although Davis started the project with no tenants, it had leased 75% of the building by the time it opened. Current tenants include Tailwinds Pediatric Dentistry, The Lorenz Clinic, LAK Med Spa and Minneapolis Integrative Medicine Center.
